Nextivity CEL-FI QUATRA 4000e boosts in-building cellular coverage across South Africa

Johannesburg 20 May 2024 – Duxbury Networking, a leading South African networking solutions distributor, says the multi-carrier CEL-FI QUATRA 4000e in-building cellular coverage solution transforms how local businesses communicate in today’s digital environment.

The active distributed antenna system (DAS) hybrid is designed and approved for use on all major mobile networks in South Africa. It is completely scalable and provides coverage of up to 11,600 square meters per Network Unit (NU). Built on the award-winning CEL-FI technology – Nextivity’s fourth-generation IntelliBoost chipset – it is the most powerful carrier-grade solution for overcoming cellular coverage issues in indoor environments.

The QUATRA 4000e provides up to 100dB gain to each carrier signal independently. This means subscribers across all cellular networks can enjoy consistent, uninterrupted indoor cellular coverage. This makes it an ideal solution for use in hospitals, schools, shopping malls, manufacturing facilities, office buildings, and other indoor settings.

“The CEL-FI QUATRA 4000e provides local companies with the flexibility to select from single, dual, or multi-carrier solutions, depending on their specific requirements,” says Tobie van Schalkwyk, Business Unit Manager at Duxbury Networking. “It brings the full scope of coverage options to largely underserved markets while removing the cost, complexity, and time involved with traditional DAS solutions.”

The QUATRA 4000e is scalable to fit buildings of all sizes. Depending on the environment, size, and space, the system uses one or multiple NUs, with each one providing power and distributing the signal to up to six Coverage Units (CUs). It features a built-in cellular modem for the CEL-FI WAVE PRO Platform.

The CEL-FI QUATRA 4000e can also be deployed off-air or tethered to carriers’ small cells. It can also be operated in distributed small cell mode to create a multi-carrier Supercell. This Supercell provides uniform access to the capacity introduced by the small cell to improve cellular coverage in larger or densely populated areas.
