Bidvest Bank issues out a statement to its customers on the coronavirus
Bidvest Bank has issued out a statement on the Coronavirus
"All sections of our society, including businesses and employers, must play an active role in curtailing the spread of COVID-19. The announcement made by the President of the Republic of South Africa Cyril Ramaphosa is a bold statement towards strong and proactive action.
Bidvest Bank has taken active steps to safeguard both our staff and customers. These are to ensure that we are able to maintain business operations and services to our customers. Our approach is as follows: we are continuously educating and informing our staff about COVID-19, including the intensification of personal hygiene practices at all of our premises. We will also continuously advise our customers on preventative measures to be taken to ensure business continuity as well as on the possible risks and contingencies posed by COVID-19.
The Bank has issued a notice banning all local and international business-related travel for staff and have asked staff, where possible, to postpone personal travel for the foreseeable future. Should there be a need to temporarily close any of our branches, we are taking the necessary steps to ensure that client services are uninterrupted. The required technology resources, to allow staff (where necessary) to work safely and productively off-site, have been provided.
We continue to monitor developments, both locally and internationally, in respect of the response to COVID-19, and are adhering to the guidance being published by both the World Health Organisation and National Department of Health."
